Techstars Start Up Weekend took over Engine Shed from 16th – 18th March 2018, offering entrepreneurs and fledgling businesses the opportunity to launch a start-up in just 54 hours.
This short film of the weekend shows the nine teams in action, as they collaborated to develop pitches for their new businesses. A business leader mentored each team, sharing knowledge and insights to help the entrepreneurs launch their ventures.
Start Up Weekend is about collaboration, bringing together designers, developers, marketers, and start-up enthusiasts to work together in one space. This event was Techstars’ first time in Bristol, and was a resounding success.
On Sunday evening, the teams were judged by a panel on their idea validation, execution, and design, as well the viability of the business model. Feesty, an order-sharing food delivery service won first place. The runner-up was iPikky, a platform connecting temporary medical staff with care home owners. Fable, an interactive app modernizing the podcast industry, came third.
