- Bessemer Society brings together leaders and innovators in science and tech fields
Engine Shed is delighted to announce that it is hosting the prestigious Bessemer Society dinner on Wednesday 27th September 2017. The invite-only event will see the venue’s business lounge become a banqueting hall for the night, with Rolls Royce CEO Warren East as keynote speaker.
Alongside Warren East, other speakers include Sammy Payne, co-founder and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Open Bionics, one of the world’s leading innovators for bionic limbs. Over 60 people are expected to attend the dinner set in the iconic Brunel building, including Sir Robin Saxby, founding CEO of ARM and promoter of young entrepreneurs.
The Bessemer Society is a forum of CEOs, founders and entrepreneurs committed to creating successful new companies based on innovation in the fields of science and technology. It holds dinners across the UK and September is the turn for Bristol.
Commenting on the event, Alex Stewart, Convener for the Bessemer Society said:
“The Bessemer Society is passionate about driving innovation in tech and science and what better place to have our Bristol event than in Brunel’s Engine Shed, the epitome of entrepreneurship, collaboration and inclusive growth across the tech space. We’ve always known that Bristol is a global leader in many tech disciplines so it is fantastic to be in the city. We’re delighted to have Warren East and Sammy Payne to provide their expert insights and to welcome a diverse audience to our Society.”
With Society membership comprising top tech companies from diverse technology and industry backgrounds, meeting together is helpful for their CEOs and founders who often face similar issues. The Bessemer Society provides a community where they can share, and benefit from the range of operational, industrial, and technical experiences represented within the Society.
Nick Sturge, Centre Director, Engine Shed added:
“We are always keen to welcome different and diverse organisations to Engine Shed, so we are thrilled to be hosts to the Bessemer Society’s Bristol dinner. It provides an opportunity for us to show how Engine Shed, as a venue, can be used for all manner of events, as well as demonstrating our unique business environment for collaboration, inclusivity, diversity and progression. We’re really looking forward to seeing what the speakers will address and the conversations to be had thereafter.”
