Engine Shed has been recognised as a key point of interaction with Bristol’s tech cluster in a new video released by real estate investment company, Mayfair Capital.
The 10-minute film was presented at an investor event in London in support of Mayfair Capital’s thematic investment strategy, which includes new offices on Bristol’s Victoria Street.
Mayfair Capital chose Bristol as a key location because of its credentials as a high-tech growth success story. Bristol is one of two Smart Cities in the UK alongside London, and boasts strong entrepreneurship, the ability to collaborate, and a skilled and productive workforce, making it an attractive location for start-ups, scaling companies, and established corporations alike.
In the film, University of Bristol CFO, Robert Kerse, name-checked Engine Shed by remarking on the unique cluster of government, organisations, SMEs, and education institutions to be found in one collaborative space.
Engine Shed Director, Nick Sturge, commented on Bristol’s diversity of both people and business sectors as a key element to Bristol’s success, inspiring a self-confidence that helps people to cross boundaries, encourage collaboration, and in turn, breed innovation.
Nick also noted Engine Shed’s place in Bristol’s tech scene, and the benefits of the University of Bristol’s Temple Quarter Enterprise Zone as “an opportunity to show what an engaged University can and should look like”.
We’re proud of Bristol’s name as a thriving, diverse, and innovative city, and its consistent technological vision. You can watch Mayfair Capital’s film, Bristol – a high-tech growth success story, here.
