It’s that time of the year again, time to celebrate the best tech in the South West with the annual SPARKies awards! Engine Shed are proud to sponsor the dynamic event organised by TechSpark – an information hub for all things tech in Bristol, Bath and the West of England region.
This year, Engine Shed is taking part as a silver sponsor of the awards, joining other key supporters including Bristol & Bath Science Park, NatWest and Oracle. The well-known actor in the ecosystem is sponsoring the ‘Future Spark’ award which recognises individuals under 25 showing true commitment within the tech and digital sector.
The SPARKies celebrates those in the tech and digital community that are pushing product boundaries and delivering innovation across the region. From awesome start-ups and people using tech to help change people’s lives to cutting edge hardware and innovative VR experiences, the awards recognises a diverse range of achievements with 15 categories. The Future Spark category fits with Engine Shed’s vision and practice for sustainable inclusive growth, empowering younger generations to achieve and nurturing local talent.
Nick Sturge, Director of Bristol and Bath’s Engine Shed, commented:
“It’s great to be a part of the SPARKies awards, not only because we champion and support our talented and richly diverse business community, but because TechSpark is a vital component in the local ecosystem – connecting and informing those working within the industry. It is also vital that we seek out and recognise our future business leaders, creatives and technologists which is why the Future Sparks award is important. I’m looking forward to hearing about the finalists, what they have achieved and intend to do.”
Nominations can be made up until 19th May 2017, with the awards being held on 29th June at Komedia Bath.
