Scott Logic Announced as New Sponsor of the Junction

  • Scott Logic announced as official sponsors of The Junction
  • Scott Logic is an active supporter of the West of England tech industry
  • Engine Shed and Scott Logic share a passion for inclusive economic growth, and have previously partnered on tech events

Engine Shed is delighted to announce Scott Logic as sponsor of its event space, The Junction.

One of our seven event and meeting spaces, The Junction is a theatre-style space with an 82-person capacity. Perfectly designed for business breakfasts, briefing events, and everything in between, The Junction has previously been used for political hustings around the General and Mayoral elections, and Royal interviews, as well as for student events and industry talks.

Engine Shed refurbished and expanded The Junction to accommodate the growing BrisTech community with the financial support of their founder and sponsor, Scott Logic. BrisTech is the pre-eminent Meetup event for technical professionals in Bristol, has been partnering with Engine Shed since early 2014, and the network has now grown to a regular audience of 80-100 people.

Engine Shed and Scott Logic’s partnership came as a natural result of their shared passion for driving inclusive growth within the tech and digital sectors. Scott Logic is a supporter of Women in Tech, and an active member of the TechSpark community.

Like Engine Shed, Scott Logic support the work of Bristol and Bath Universities. At Bristol in particular, they have delivered guest lectures, sponsored the computer society, and organised coding challenges and hackathons.

Nigel Wilson, General Manager at Scott Logic said: “As a fast-growing national software consultancy, our Bristol Office is becoming a key part of many of our new initiatives. We plan to double our head count this year to support a variety of new projects, and we’re keen to increase our role as a supporter to the local tech community. Sponsoring the Junction is a key part of this – it’s a fantastic hub for the sector, and the region as a whole, and we look forward to working with Engine Shed for at least the next three years.”

Part of the original Engine Shed building, The Junction has a contemporary finish that matches the industrial feel of the space. Curtained off from the main Business Lounge, The Junction is a private space with its own catering and networking area, plus twin 55” screens and a PA system and lectern.

Nick Sturge, Engine Shed Director said: “We are grateful to Scott Logic for the support of the Junction expansion, and of the tech cluster in general. Scott Logic and BrisTech have been a powerful catalyst to help make the Bristol & Bath area internationally known for its technical prowess and entrepreneurial zeal. We look forward to working together on new projects.

Scott Logic aims to double the headcount in their Bristol office this year, where they already host a large team of developers. Engine Shed are delighted to partner with them at this exciting time in their growth, and hope to continue working together to support the local tech community.
