Engine Shed’s Investor in Residence Service Returns After Sell-Out Success

Following the success of our Investor in Residence service with Deepbridge Capital and ADV earlier this year, we’re pleased to announce that we will be offering new sessions with exciting new investors from 15th August.

The Investor in Residence service provides non-obligatory consultations with experienced investors. Companies will get feedback on their pitch, and advice on where they can find the right type of investment, as well as insight into what the partner investors are looking for.

Bristol and Bath Regional Capital will be with us on 21st August, 18th September, 23rd October, and 22nd November. BBRC is a community-minded investment company working with local people, companies and institutions in the West of England to catalyse regional change.

As an Investor in Residence, BBRC will apply its investment and business planning experience to help entrepreneurs in the West of England become more resilient. The right sort of finance for the right sort of organisation can boost the social impact, capacity and long-term sustainability of any business, and BBRC want to help social entrepreneurs in the region make those choices well. BBRC help entrepreneurs that put purpose at the heart of their activity.

On 5th September and 5th October, Deepbridge Capital will be back with us providing feedback and guidance to innovative companies. As Investor in Residence at the Engine Shed, Deepbridge become an integral part of the Bristol entrepreneurial ecosystem. Deepbridge provide practical advice, and are looking for tech and life sciences innovation to join their portfolio of funded companies.

ADV return this autumn (dates tbc) as they look to build a platform investing in 200 tech companies per year. Last year, ADV raised £150m to invest across the UK, with 19 investments between £50k and £9m in the last 5 months. ADV understand how best to support the local start up ecosystem using their connections, capital and experience.

Our first Investor in Residence session with Ignite, the UK’s first distributed start up support and investment network, is already fully booked, and they’ll be returning in October and November, with dates to be confirmed.

Each team will offer one day a month with slots between the hours of 10am – 3pm.
