On Thursday 23rd November, Engine Shed will host An Introduction to Angel Investing in collaboration with Clifton College, with three speakers confirmed as angel investor Julian Telling, entrepreneur Gareth Williams from YellowDog, and Engine Shed director Nick Sturge.
The Bristol & Bath region is rich with innovation, and frequently ranked as the ‘best place to start a business,’ ‘best place to live,’ or ‘smartest city’ in the UK, but much of the money raised to fund start-ups and scale-ups is often not locally sourced. However, with newly established networks and initiatives, this is beginning to change. An Introduction to Angel Investing is aimed at anyone looking to invest in the region, or wanting to learn more about what angel investing will entail.
The event will mark the launch of a new partnership with Engine Shed and will highlight the need for angel investments in the region with stories from both the investor and investee’s point of view. Julian Telling will explore what it’s like to be an angel investor, Nick Sturge will launch the new Angel Hub, and Gareth Williams will share his experiences from the other side of the investment coin. The talks will precede a Q&A and networking opportunities, and breakfast will be provided.

An Introduction to Angel Investing will take place at Clifton College on 23rd November, from 7.30am – 9am. The event is free to attend, but places must be registered here.
