Startups in Bristol and the South West can receive specialist data support from Ordnance Survey (OS) and HM Land Registry (HMLR) through Geovation’s continued partnership with Engine Shed.
Geovation supports start-ups who are using location or property data in their offering. The partnership provides Engine Shed’s network partners (see names below) a range of benefits to join its community for free, including access to OS and HMLR data, expert business advice and Mentorship.
Engine Shed Partnerships Manager, Emilie Harryman says: “Our partnership with Geovation began in 2019 and since then we have introduced a number of Bristol startups to Geovation, including Grand Bequest and Smartlight AI, as well as providing space for geospatial workshop sessions and meetups. We’re looking forward to continuing this partnership to help ambitious startups access valuable data and expertise.”
Innovation & Outreach Manager Luke Hampson said: “At Geovation we believe that entrepreneurs have the power to make the world a better place and every year we support start-ups to harness the opportunities of location data through our award-winning Accelerator Programme, sustainability challenges and partner hubs. We’re delighted to extend our partnership with Engine Shed, and we look forward to supporting start-ups in Bristol and the South West.”
Backed by Ordnance Survey (OS) and HM Land Registry, Geovation has supported over 150 location-data and proptech start-ups who have raised over £130m in funding and created over 2,500 jobs, as well as running 11 collaborative purpose-driven challenges that have successfully wrought over 800 sustainability-focussed ideas. Names to pass through the hub’s doors include Bristol’s DronePrep, a platform to support drone flights, and air quality monitoring company Atmo.
