Mike Paton has been appointed General Manager of the University of Bristol’s new Enterprise Services division.
Enterprise Services brings together the University’s internationally recognised assets of Engine Shed, SETsquared Bristol and Quantum Technologies Innovation Centre (QTIC+) to provide partners and businesses in the wider region with a breadth of services and specialist facilities to drive inclusive economic growth.
As General Manager, Mike has overall responsibility for operations and finance, and will continue to support the growth of QTIC+ as Programme Manager.
Mike spent his career prior to the University of Bristol at Rolls-Royce in roles spanning programme and account management and service delivery.
Marty Reid, Head of Engine Shed, said, “I’m delighted that Mike is joining us as we build on the successes of Engine Shed, SETsquared Bristol and QTIC+ to develop new initiatives, services and spaces that support Bristol’s unique ecosystem of businesses, entrepreneurs, academics and social innovators.”
Mike said, “Bristol is a well-established hotbed of innovation and entrepreneurialism and I’m thrilled to be part of that community. Over the last year as QTIC+ Programme Manager, I’ve worked with some of the most exciting quantum technology start-ups in the UK which are developing transformational technologies. I can’t wait to get involved in the many other areas where Bristol is playing a leading enterprise role.”
