Engine Shed’s breadth of Business Lounge members has again been increased thanks to the inclusion of the South West Business Council.
The South West Business Council (SWBC) was formed in 2001 to provide a single voice to represent the views of some of the region’s most important organisations, both regionally and nationally.
It is a significant economic partnership, a network of networks, and has established itself as a leading provider of strategic vision for businesses, focused on raising the profile, the performance, and the health of a regional economy worth over £30 billion a year. It works closely with businesses, their representative groups, and with public-sector organisations across the wider region.
The South West Business Council has over 130 members across the South West, and its membership represents a diverse range of business sectors. It is in the process of establishing a number of ‘Landing Points’, homes from home across the region where South West Business Council members can work, get a coffee, good WiFi, and make new connections with the local business community.
Robin Daniels, CEO South West Business Council said:
“We at the South West Business Council are delighted to welcome Engine Shed as a member and as our first Landing Point in Bristol. As a focus for innovators, entrepreneurs, and businesses from the Bath and Bristol areas, Engine Shed is a natural partner for us – and for our members from across the region and beyond. SWBC is all about making new connections and building new opportunities for the region, and in Engine Shed we find a great facility, in an ideal location and led by an inspiring and energetic team. Exciting times lie ahead!”
Nick Sturge, Director at Engine Shed said:
We’re pleased to be able to offer an extension of SWBC’s landing points to our diverse community here at Engine Shed. Providing a touch point for businesses on the M5 corridor from the South West through to Birmingham will expand the thriving networking opportunities with the other network, corporate, and institution members of the Business Lounge itself, and we hope across the region as a whole.”
